Swelco

Swelco is the subcontract laser and fabrication division of Altron Communications Equipment in Capel Hendre. Its cutting department combines a 6 kW Amada Ventis fibre laser with a 4 kW Bystronic CO2 system, covering sheet up to about 3 × 1.5 metres and published thicknesses of roughly 25 mm mild steel, 20 mm stainless and 15 mm aluminium. CNC bending extends to four metres, followed by MIG/TIG fabrication and powder coating. The division is designed to supply formed and fabricated parts downstream of the laser rather than acting as a profiling-only bureau.
